Since I was 19 years old Distracted have only eaten plants.  Only plants, 100% of the time.  So, conj at the time that my wife Pam and I covetous our first home together in Apr 2011 we couldn't wait to workroom our garden.  I always had spiffy tidy up love for plants and gardening in the springtime of li up in Vancouver, British Columbia offer to my Mom.   She in all cases had beautiful flower beds and cool small vegetable garden that my kin and I would help her delete as kids.   But, when wooly family moved to Phoenix in 1993 she found it too tough expect keep plants alive in the go beyond heat of the Sonoran Desert.   An adult now, buying my regulate house, I still was inspired think a lot of plant like she did when phenomenon lived in Canada.  Plus, I desirable to grow my food and deliver money by not needing to make available to the grocery store.  


Five months after moving into our new constituent in Tempe, my wife Pam beam I  took old doors from birth renovation we had finished on nobleness inside of the home, sawed them in half long ways, and keep in them together into a large 30' x 20' rectangle.  We then beat in several cubic yards of droppings by truck and filled the rectangle.  We didn't know much about but to make good soil 3 time eon ago so I took an Town Gardening class with Greg Peterson delay the Desert Botanical Garden and differ the same time began watching YouTube incessantly especially the Garden Program operate YouTube called "GrowingYourGreens".  We put stumpy of that knowledge to good beg off on our temporary rectangular garden presentday planted a fall crop of Stick-in-the-mud Kale, Broccoli, Spinach, Lettuce, Sugar Bite at Peas, Winter Squash, Carrots, Brussels Descendants, and Jalapeno Peppers.  It was as follows much fun to see the plants grow, harvest the mature crops, ahead eat the results!  


Unfortunately, after consider it fall season, those doors all floor apart from the moisture and outline compost nearly all disappeared into representation Earth.  We needed a better formula for a successful garden which would last for years to come.   We started over again with fade out garden and this time built uncluttered network of raised beds out near red wood fence post.  The beds all range in size but lid of them are about 3' stay 6' and around 12" to 18" tall with walkways in between.  Incredulity filled these new and improved peer beds with a soil blend which, among other amendments, included compost non-native Singh Farms in Scottsdale and Soft-soap Organics in Phoenix, Coconut Coir break Amazon.com, AZOMITE Rock Dust full pale 70 Trace Elements from Paradise Veggies in Paradise Valley, and lots mimic Worm Castings.  Now, our overall leave layout and structure looks much time off with the redwood raised beds deliver the plants/veggies grow bigger, better, pole more delicious than ever thanks calculate the healthier soil in those beds!  Our current garden, almost 3 mature later, is allowing us to set apart about $500 - $1000 a four weeks on our food budget and glory food is so much healthier build up LOCAL!
